For rifles, the 52 grain 1410 bullet offers the shooter all the advantages of a boat tail design for 200 to 300 yard competition. The 1410 is appropriate for rifles with 1×12″ or 1×14″ twist rates. In handguns chambering cartridges in 22 calibre, the 52 grain 1410 MatchKing bullets often deliver superior accuracy in target competition. Although they are recognized around the world for record-setting accuracy, MatchKing bullets are not recommended for hunting. Widely favoured for their extreme accuracy, these bullets have been used for short-range varminting. Having heavier jackets, they will not provide the explosive expansion of the lightly jacketed Hornet or Blitz bullets at equivalent velocities in small varmints. If used for varmint shooting, ranges should be kept short to ensure precise shot placement.
